USA Hockey Safe Sport training is required for all coaches, volunteers, and players with a birth year of 2005 or earlier. 

The McKinney Ice Hockey Club is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that creates high school hockey teams for students attending the McKinney Independent School District at the Junior Varsity and Varsity Levels.  Players Represent Boyd High, McKinney North, McKinney High School & all five Middle Schools in McKinney.

MHT Off-Ice Hockey Specifics Camp

I am thrilled to personally invite you to our Hockey Camp at the Edge Skate Park in Allen, Texas. Coach Aaron Gens and I, along with the MHT (McLean Hockey Training) staff, will offer a unique training experience focusing on three main areas:

1. Shooting and Scoring Techniques: "The fundamentals of shooting are the most untaught skill in youth hockey. I see 6-10-year-olds daily taking slap shots without knowing how to take a wrist shot. Players can learn much more off-ice or on synthetic ice for a lot less." - Coach McLean

2. Power-Skating Strength and Agility: "As players try to move to the next level, the single most important thing in the off-season is off-ice and leg strength training. At MHT, we use slide boards, plyometric boxes, and more to help players advance." - Coach Aaron Gens

3. Hockey IQ 101: "Players will do video analysis with Coach Dave Mills, learning decision making, positional awareness, reading the play, teamwork and communication, and game understanding. Hockey IQ is crucial for players of all ages as it goes beyond the physical aspect and directly impacts their ability to excel in games." - Coach Dave Mills
